My Fairy tale shopping experience

Let me just say "WooooooooW!" I've never had a better shopping experience...but my credit card might  disagree!

Let me start from the very beginning.
My girlfriend called me up on Friday to let me know that there is a Barney's sale with 60% off already reduced prices. It would open at 9 am. and we had to there at 8.30 am. On Saturday morning!!! I agreed to peel myself off the pillow and make it there by 8.45 am. And I did!

Let me tell you, I didn't expect the amazing deals or unforgettable things that I could buy. I just wanted to experience that crazy NY-sort of "secret sale" and honestly was hoping for a girls fight over a Valentino dress we often see in the movies.

It was four of us in line waiting for a pop-up store to open when one of the girls started sharing tips about what to do when we get in. She also shared her extensive experience of sample sale shopping and that's when I realized I'm missing out on a big part of living in New York City. She told us about Bvlgary jewelry sales, Valentino bags sales and multiple other sales she found great things at more or less affordable prices.

At 9 am. we walked in to a medium size room with racks full of clothes and shoes. We started with shoes as they are the most valuable merchandise and get sold off quickly. We were supposed to get  any shoes we liked plus/minus one size because these designer shoes have different sizing. I didn't believe it at first but it was so true! I became size 9 and 10 instead of 8.5.

And the fitting began! We tried pairs and pairs of shoes, modeled them to each other and actually it was great to have girlfriends there. It was a no return policy so any valid advise was highly appreciated. None of us could go crazy and spend tons of money and we all wanted to get some great items so we all were on the same page.

After much deliberation we narrowed our choices and decided on about two pairs each. One of my choices was Lanvin boots (original price $1,390!!!) and you can see for yourself how great they look. I've never seen people paying so much attention to the shoes I'm wearing. People on the street are making sure to tell me how much they like them. Yay!!!!

Hence the summary of the above:
  • Warehouse sales are worth paying attention to because they might have really really good stuff
  • Show up early
  • Pick up anything you think you might like because if you don't it might be gone by the time you come back to it (if you don't buy it, your girlfriend might!!)
Happy shopping!

“Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world.” ― Marilyn Monroe

On a recent afternoon I wandered into our local Macy's (funny that I can call the most famous Macy's in the USA local) to return some stuff and decided to check shoes department. To be honest, I don't go to the 5th floor too often, not the best service and messy atmosphere are among the reasons why. But I had coupons and it was a shame to let them go to waste.

And it's a good thing that I did. Look what I found! Now, on a usual day I won't even check items that have "Ivanka Trump" engraved on them. Although she has an impeccable taste and anything she touches turns into gold, it's expensive for the regular person. And that's why I was so excited when I saw these heels to be on sale. I fell even more in love with them when I put them on, they are so comfy despite the high heel!

I don't know who invented high heels, but all women owe him a lot.
                                                                                         Marilyn Monroe

It couldn't be said better than in the quote above. High heels have this effect on both men and women. Men are definitely more attracted to a feminine look of a woman wearing high heels and women get a boost of confidence and a much sexier way of walking when on high heels..... I know it's not too healthy to wear high heels but they should be a part of any girl's closet at least for some special occasions.

I loved the pattern and more so the fact that there was not so much of it, just the right amount. And the space in front is not too wide so your whole foot doesn't fall out of there when you walk. These are very classy shoes even with the pattern like this and, in my opinion, can be worn both in the formal office environment as much as in after office.

And guess what I paid for them. The full price was $145 but with sale and my 20% coupon it cost me $83.49 (with tax) which is almost 50% off!

Enjoy your shopping and remember that good things take time to find but when you do find them they have a tendency to make you unbelievably happy.
