Finally I had a free Sunday to check out stores in the City. I have been busy with million different things so there was no time for shopping. Today though I had a grand plan to check out Macy's, Lord&Taylor and maybe a couple smaller stores in between but got stuck at Macy's for the whole time! But it was time well spent. I got a couple of new items and also took pictures of ones that I really liked. I have to say, I've been so excited about spring shopping, about bright hues that you probably have seen already in the magazines and in coverage of New York fashion week. I'm in love with bright green, orange and especially a mix between pink and carrot colors which will go perfectly with charcoal grey. I didn't find that many bright-colored items I liked today but I got some basic ones that can be mixed with brighter things when I come across them.
Soo... Here is the first one. I would call it pantaloni, that's my funny way of describing them because they remind me of my grandma's underpants. I'm sure there is a name for these pants though. I loved the color (truffle) and shape. They have ropes that can be tied around the knee area making it possible to adjust the length. I can't wait to wear them with my high heels and a bright pink or black top. It's made by Michael Kors and therefore a bit pricey at $79.50 and for some reason it didn't qualify for my 20% coupon.
This top is also by Michael Kors ($39.98). I like it for an office outfit. I think it ll look good with a jacket and pencil skirt or even with black capri pants. 20% coupon didn't work for this item either, which is a major disappointment but it's still not too expensive.

I finally found a shirt dress that I really like. I've always wanted to have one of those but every purchase ended up being returned after careful examination upon returning home. I hope this one will be a great addition to my closet. It's made by Tommy Hilfiger and hence is expensive,
or at least I consider it to be expensive. But thanks to the coupon it ended up costing me $119.50 instead of $149.50. The fabric is on a thicker side but everything in this dress speaks for quality. The buttons, the belt, its perfect cut and military color make it a must have for this spring and summer. I would wear it with my wedges but I guess any bright sandals would look perfect as well.

The dress on this picture is made by Rachel Roy and is very spring/summer-like. It's a bit short so if you are not comfortable with the length I would not get it. My favorite part of this dress is one shoulder sleeve, which, if it was up to me, I would have on every item I wear. The price was around $100 but by that time I already maxed out on my limit for the day so I had to leave it behind.
The next dress is also by Rachel Roy and it is simply beautiful. It's a halter dress but a halter part was replaced by the chain which gives it a very sexy look. It would be perfect for a night out at the Frying Pan or a roof top bar party.

As you can see I spent a lot of time hanging out in the fitting rooms taking pictures of the pieces that I thought looked great. Feel free to let me know if you like any of the above and end up getting something for yourself. And by the way, that red watch on the picture is a Valentine's day present from my boyfriend and I still can't keep my eyes off it that's how much I love it.
